This is a great charity for a great cause...we would only post it if we felt strongly about it. Here it is:
This Saturday, March 2, at 9 a.m., the ATK Running Club will host a 5k run and 1-mile walk that starts and finishes at the Three Mile Creek Elementary School in Perry, Utah. Entry fees for the 5K are $20 with T-shirt, $10 no shirt, and for the one-mile walk the fees are $15 with T-shirt, $5 no shirt. Race day registration begins at 8:15 a.m.
The event will be a charity fund raiser to benefit the Burn Center at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. The Running Club is organizing and hosting this special run because it hits close to home. Last fall, a group of young boys from the Perry area were badly injured while playing with gasoline. The boys were treated thanks to the care and expertise provided at the Burn Center. As the only burn center in the Intermountain West, this Utah center serves the largest geographical area of any burn center in the country. The Utah unit sees 350-400 patients a year with chemical, contact, flame, scald, friction and electrical injuries.
