Today is the last day to submit your Catch Me If You Can results up and down the Mueller Park trail. We want to thank Tecnica running for sponsoring the "event." We already have a few good courses we're thinking about for next year.

We'll post the final results on Tuesday, September 4th. Have a safe & happy Labor Day.

TECNICA Catch Me If You Can!

The Tecnica 'Catch Me If You Can' contest is back! This year we're taking the run south to Bountiful at Mueller Park where you'll run from the bridge to Elephant Rock and back (6.6 miles round trip).

The contest is FREE and runs through August 31st. To play, you need to run the course with a GPS watch and mark your location at the start and at Elephant Rock then show us your watch. You can also email us the file from your watch - striders@stridersrunning.com . We'll keep a running tally at STRIDERS and on this blog. You can run the course as many times as you want, whenever you want and report to us your best time. On September 3rd we'll announce the winners.

What do the winners get you say? The top male & female winners each get $150 and a pair of Tecnica shoes. 2nd & 3rd male/female each get a pair of Tecnica shoes. All participants get a Tecnica water bottle while supplies last.

You can check out a pair of Tecnica shoes for FREE to do the run in as well as check out a GPS watch.

We're also going to schedule a morning in August to run the course and record some results if you're interested - stay tuned for a date and time.

Tecnica CATCH ME IF YOU CAN Final results

It was one heck of a race but Scott Dickey & Anna Judd came out victorious. Scott got nice and bloody in his final run up & down Malans, but the nose dive at the end was enough for the win. Everybody seemed to like the race format; so we'll be back next summer with maybe a few more categories. In the meantime, the official Malans Run record is 42:17 (male) and 52:14 (female). You have a year to practice and get ready for the next contest. Congratulations to everybody who participated. If you did not get a shirt or water bottle, we still have a few at STRIDERS. The STRIDERS crew (pictured) got the Tecnica CATCH ME IF YOU CAN course marked from 27th Street to the Top of Malan's Peak (also pictured). We want to see who can get to the top of Malan's and back down again the fastest. All are invited to give it a try. Use your GPS or check one out at STRIDERS then report to us how long it took you. We'll have a tally-board at STRIDERS with the current results. We'll also keep you updated at www.stridersrunning.com. You have until August 15th to report your fastest time. STRIDERS is teaming up with Technica running to find the toughest trail runners in Northern Utah. There's $150 up for grabs for the fastest male and female runners. We want to see who can get up and down Malan's the fastest. The contest will run from July 15th to August 15th, 2011.
